For 270 years, steel and wood have been the core materials used to make SAUER hunting rifles. To celebrate the oldest recorded German gunmaker’s anniversary, the company issued a special edition of the flagship among its product ranges. It features a unique combination of exclusive stock woods, an elegant surface design and state-of-the-art technology.
As such, the SAUER 404, SAUER 303 and SAUER 101 anniversary models shine in an exquisite wood grade 7 stock, while the wood grade 5 SAUER 100 features a high-contrast finish. Not only are the surfaces of the barrel and housing on the flagship SAUER 404 and the SAUER 101 refined with a hand-applied brushed finish, but they are also DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coated to guarantee the ultimate protection against scratches and corrosion. The jewelling on the chambers of the bolt action rifles and on the dust cover of the S 303 accentuate the design, as does the hand-applied brushed finish on the 404 anniversary edition.
All four special-edition rifles are also adorned with the SAUER “Wild Man with a Club” anniversary logo. As the guardian of the natural resources of wood and steel, which achieve perfection in these models, the historic SAUER trademark is outlined in a delicate gold motif on the black steel pistol grip cap.
